Unveiling the Ossiarch Bonereapers: New Year's Preview (2026)

Prepare to be amazed, because the Ossiarch Bonereapers are back, and they're bringing a bone-chilling arsenal to the battlefield! In response to the Hour of Ruin, these masters of the macabre have been hard at work, crafting new units designed to harvest bones and stem the tide of the Skaventide. Nagash, the Supreme Lord of the Undead, has been thwarted by the servants of the Great Horned Rat more than once, which is unacceptable. But what wonders await us? Let's dive in!

Firstly, we have the Liege-Kavalos on War Chariot. These aren't just any chariots; they're mobile command centers. The Mortisans have truly outdone themselves, shaping bone into these formidable war machines. Liege-Kavaloi can now survey the battlefield from a strategic vantage point, directing their fellow charioteers in devastating coordinated charges. And the steeds? Unwaveringly obedient, unlike their flesh-and-blood counterparts. They were even created to keep pace with the Lumineth Realm-lords.

Next up are the Liege-Morteks, the lieutenants to the Liege-Kavaloi. They command more soldiers than their Hekatos underlings. They are masters of battlefield tactics, ensuring the war effort marches in perfect unison. These sub-commanders are crafted in abundance, each possessing centuries of martial knowledge. Their avian familiars act as messengers, keeping them informed of the battle's ebb and flow. With a choice of spear, sword, or axe, and three different heads, the Liege-Morteks are ready for anything. But here's where it gets controversial: Wouldn't it be great if there was a third Mortek unit to go along with Mortek Guard and Mortek Crawlers?

Then, we have the Mortek Triaxes. After years of requests, Katakros has finally answered the call for ranged units. With bone grafted over one eye socket, a vertical row of eyes on the other side, and a unique third eye imbued with power, these archers add a new dimension to the Ossiarch armies. Their extra eye can see an enemy’s spiritual aura, allowing them to aim with deadly precision. Each cohort is accompanied by Balefire Braziers, which light their arrows with soul-essence.

Finally, we have the Mortis Reapers, the assassins of the Ossiarch Bonereapers. They excel at stealth, sneaking behind enemy lines to eliminate key targets. Each carries necrocaches, devices that release a cloud of grave sand. These units act with terrifying synchronicity.

All of these new units will have rules in the Battletome: Ossiarch Bonereapers. It offers a range of new tactical and strategic options, including lore, history, art, and miniatures photography. The Ossiarch Bonereapers also received an updated battle trait, which reinvents Relentless Discipline. Katakros himself generates 10 points, while a Liege-Mortek creates 5, with some abilities gaining power for additional points spent. There are also rules for two Armies of Renown, two Regiments of Renown, a new Spearhead, and Path to Glory rules.

Releasing alongside the new battletome and miniatures is a Battleforce: Null Myriad Phalanx. It's a boxed set commanded by Arkhan the Black, Mortarch of Sacrament. He is joined by a Mortisan Soulmason, four Morghast Archai, and a unit of 20 Mortek Guard.

The Kavalos Vanguard is a new Ossiarch Bonereapers spearhead. A Liege-Kavalaos and two units of five Kavalos Deathriders are the primary damage dealers. The Teratic Cohort can be relied upon to claim objectives and herd enemy forces.

One of the two Regiments of Renown in the Battletome will be available to buy alongside the initial release: the Heralds of the Bone-tithe. This force is led by Vokmortian, Master of the Bone-tithe. It also contains three elite Immortis Guard and 10 Mortek Guard.

So, what do you think of these new additions to the Ossiarch Bonereapers? Are you excited to add them to your army? Let us know in the comments! Do you agree with the controversial points?
