It revealed that the woman had ridden the indoor roller coaster on November 25th and became unresponsive during the ride. Despite being rushed to the hospital, she was pronounced dead. The ride's description on the theme park's website reads: "Digging your nails into the safety rail, you'll hold on tight as you rush forwards and back, fleeing from the evil Mummy Imhotep. Just as escape seems possible, you plunge into a pitch-black abyss with no end. Will you ever see daylight again, or will you remain trapped in this tomb forever?"
A Universal spokesperson, when contacted by the Orlando Sentinel, stated that the company does not comment on pending claims. The ride underwent refurbishment from January to late August 2022, with improvements including new 4K projection mapping, updated ride control systems, and fully refurbished animatronics.
And this is the part most people miss... Another incident occurred on September 17th at Universal's Epic Universe in Orlando. Kevin Rodriguez Zavala, a 32-year-old man who used a wheelchair due to spinal cord atrophy, was found unresponsive on the ride and later died. His family's lawyers have stated that his disability was not a factor in his death, and they have since reached a settlement with Universal.
