Dive into the thrilling world of Star Trek: Voyager Across the Unknown, a survival game that promises to keep players on the edge of their seats. According to gameXcite founder Patrick Streppel, this game is all about enduring "years of hell." But here's where it gets controversial: is it truly a survival game, or is it just a Star Trek fan's dream?
In an exclusive interview, Streppel revealed that Across the Unknown offers three difficulty levels, none of which will be a walk in the park. "We have three difficulty settings ranging from an adventure mode that lets players focus more on the story to experiencing 'years of hell' in the Delta Quadrant," he said. But make no mistake: this is a survival game, and players should feel the weight of command, just like in the show.
While the game isn't a rogue-like, Streppel emphasized that restarting a sector and improving your strategy is sometimes advisable and part of the challenge of being a starship captain. "While the game is not a rogue-like, restarting a sector and improving your strategy is sometimes advisable and part of the challenge to be a starship captain," he added.
This game is a labor of love, "made by fans for fans," Streppel stressed. "This is not a AAA production, but we tried to recreate the full experience of being a starship captain, stranded in the Delta Quadrant."
Star Trek: Voyager Across the Unknown will be available on PC, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS5, and Switch 2 from February 19 in Australia. So, are you ready to face the "years of hell"? Let us know in the comments what you think about this game and whether you're ready to take on the challenge!
