AMI Paris Fall 2026: Low-Key Cool Fashion for the Real World (2026)

Ami Paris Fall 2026: The Effortlessly Chic Individuals in Your Community

This season has been characterized by a nostalgic look back as well as a deep dive into fashion archives, notably at Ami Paris. Here, designer Alexandre Mattiussi was enthusiastic about embarking on a "new chapter" for his brand, which has now graced the fashion scene for 15 years.

Mattiussi passionately expressed, "I’m returning to my roots in a profound way to revive that sense of casual elegance, richness, and comfort that has underpinned my success from the very start." As he guided attendees through the show, it felt like witnessing a perfect lineup of stylish characters you’d dream of seeing while lounging at a café terrace in Paris.

The collection blended preppy styles with an innate French sophistication, introducing a hint of grunge. Elements like baseball caps and beanies injected a relaxed vibe into Mattiussi's spacious tailoring and meticulous layering. The showcase prominently featured wide-legged trousers paired with oversized wool coats that exuded enough confidence to suit both a board meeting and a leisurely brunch on a brisk Sunday morning.

Despite its understated nature, the clothing was impressive. The diverse models reflected an intriguing array of personalities, from tomboys and art students to athletic types and glamorous figures. The latter effortlessly combined satin balloon skirts with snug sweaters and polished derby shoes or styled pencil skirts with hoodies.

Mattiussi shared his vision for the collection: "I aim to strike the right balance between what I consider the ideal wardrobe and something that feels much more authentic and grounded."

He raised a thought-provoking point: "Fashion seems to have distanced itself from reality, becoming almost an isolated realm. In the face of such challenging global circumstances and unsettling news, what purpose does it serve if it doesn’t resonate with our daily lives?"

The show was held in a large, empty retail space located on the famed Avenue des Champs-Élysées, serving as a stark reminder of the hurdles the fashion industry and retailers are currently navigating amidst significant geopolitical upheavals and a distracted consumer base.

Responding to inquiries about the previous year, Mattiussi noted, "Our business has remained stable," attributing this resilience to reasonable pricing strategies amidst rampant luxury inflation.

"I genuinely see tremendous growth potential ahead. We recently inaugurated a flagship store in Korea, which is the largest of its kind globally," he mentioned enthusiastically, referring to the multi-story establishment in Seoul’s Hannam district.

In addition, Mattiussi is preparing to unveil another retail space near the Place des Victoires, just a short distance from Ami headquarters. "This will be my personal store, featuring my own selections, curated collections, guest collaborations, dining events, and cocktail parties," he said, beaming with excitement.

It will certainly be fascinating to see what unique experiences he creates for his closest friends and customers.
